Being green is part of our corporate culture as we pursue new technology and innovation. We are dedicated to continuous improvement and strive to produce a superior product that is effective yet responsible.

In 2002, our IZIT Leather production facility received ISO-14001 certification and recently achieved the company target of “zero industrial emissions.” We actively promote the reduction of waste, energy and air pollution as declared in the ISO-14001 environmental management program.

Our advanced micro-porous polyurethane wet technology allows us to completely recycle and reuse our solvent. Additionally, in accordance with the ISO-14001 green procurement policy, none of our materials contain PVC, heavy metals, formaldehyde, nitric acid cellulose, organic substances that continue to contaminate the environment, or any other materials that cause concern regarding the potential toxicity after use.

When determining how environmentally friendly textiles are it is important to consider the useful life of the material. How long will the material be useful before it shows signs of wear and needs to be replaced? All IZIT Leather materials exceed 200,000 double rubs (Wyzenbeek) which surpasses the requirement of 30,000 as set by the Association of Contract Textiles (ACT) guideline. Additionally, IZIT Leather is inherently stain resistant and does not require harsh chemicals to clean. Most stains, dirt and spills clean easily with mild soap and water. For more than 20 years designers have specified IZIT leather for high traffic installations because of the ease of maintenance and resiliency which contribute to a longer useful life.

Lastly, we maintain our eco commitment internally by recycling all paper and cardboard, and carry this through by shipping IZIT Leather in green packaging comprised of 30% recycled material.

IZIT Leather is ISO-14001 and ISO-9001 certified and our Premier and Junior lines are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified.
